We've had a lot of conversations lately about marriage. Heidi is very much a "girly-girl" into all things pink and sparkly and princessy and baby dolls and everything nice. Add to that the fact that my best friend and cousin recently got engaged and we've been having lots of love and marriage talk around here. Anyway, some snippets from our daily conversations:
Grandma: Heidi, do you have a boyfriend?
Heidi: Yeah
Me: You do? Who's your boyfriend?
Heidi: Daddy
[awww...swoon]
Me: Heidi, Aunt Emmy is getting married!
Heidi: I'm getting married too!
Me: You can't get married, you have to live with Mama forever!
Heidi: I'm getting married!
Me: Who are you marrying?
Heidi: You marry me!
[awww...swoon]
Heidi: The king take her hand and he marry her! [random conversation on the way home in the car]
Me: He married her? Who is Aunt Emmy marrying?
Heidi: Aunt Jason!
Heidi also thinks that the prince in all the princess movies is actually the princess's dad. She plays with her Cinderella figurines and she always gets to be Cinderella and I have to be "the dad," which is better than when I have to be the evil stepmother.
